Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need my own API keys?

Yes. BidGovPro uses your own SAM.gov, OpenAI/Claude, and Manus API keys. This keeps your costs predictable and your data private. You enter them once in Settings and they are stored securely in your OS credential vault.

Is my data secure?

All your data stays on your computer. BidGovPro is a desktop application — nothing is uploaded to a cloud server. API keys are stored in the Windows credential vault. Your opportunity data, subcontractor lists, proposals, and contracts live in a local encrypted database.

What about updates?

BidGovPro checks for updates automatically. When a new version is available, you will be prompted to install it. Updates are free for the first year. After that, an optional annual upgrade plan is available.

Can I upgrade my edition later?

Yes. If you buy Essentials and later want Professional or Intelligence, you just pay the difference. Your license key is updated and the new features unlock immediately — no reinstall needed.

Is there a free trial?

BidGovPro is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription, so there is no time-limited trial. Instead, we keep your risk low with transparent, published pricing (no sales call required), the ability to upgrade later by paying only the difference, and a clear refund policy. The Features page walks through exactly what each edition does before you buy.

Does this work for my set-aside?

BidGovPro supports WOSB, EDWOSB, VOSB, SDVOSB, 8(a), HUBZone, and SDB certifications. The compliance engine checks your eligibility against solicitation set-aside types and flags mismatches before you bid.

Is this legal advice?

No. BidGovPro is decision-support software. The compliance checks surface the key federal subcontracting rules, but you should confirm eligibility with a PTAC or APEX Accelerator. Think of it as a heads-up system, not a lawyer.

What if I am new to government contracting?

BidGovPro is designed for small businesses entering federal contracting. The AI explains solicitation requirements in plain English, the Scout Score helps you prioritize, and the proposal builder walks you through each section.

What about state and local contracts?

BidGovPro covers both. The Daily Opportunity Feed merges federal SAM.gov postings with state and local solicitations into one deduped, date-sorted list, and applies the same per-NAICS state rules to each source, so a NAICS you scope to Colorado stays Colorado-only no matter which source it came from. State and local records flow through the same pipeline, proposal, and CRM workflow as federal ones, and carry a jurisdiction badge so you always know which is which. Coverage varies by state and jurisdiction.

Can I get notified when new contracts are posted?

Yes, and it is free with no purchase or account required. Sign up with your NAICS code and an optional state, and you will get a daily email digest of new federal and state and local contracts that match. Federal alerts are nationwide; state and local coverage varies by jurisdiction. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
